Henry VIII standing over a feast

Your presence is requested for a royal banquet in the heart of medieval York!

Start your experience in the ancient fortification of Monk Bar on the city walls, where you will be treated to an exclusive drink and canapé reception and the chance to explore the impact that the last Plantagenet monarch, Richard III, had on the city.

Then, you will be escorted on a regal progress to York’s hidden gem medieval townhouse, Barley Hall, where you will experience a sumptuous banquet fit for a king!

You will also get the chance to examine historic texts and learn about the exotic diets of royalty, plus discover our latest exhibition; Power & Glory: York in the Time of Henry VIII.

Due to the popularity of this event in previous years, pre-booking is essential to avoid disappointment: 01904 615505

Menu will be provided on booking; please advise if you have any special dietary requirements.

This is a fundraising event for York Archaeological Trust.
